Live Auctions & Timed Online Farm Auctions

In a live auction, an auctioneer sells each lot on sale day while buyers bid in person and online. In a timed online auction, bidding stays open for several days and closes lot by lot. Both formats are open to online bidders nationwide, and your equipment can be in either one whether it sits on your farm or at our Springfield, Nebraska yard.

Why Sell Farm Equipment at Auction?

A dealer trade is one offer from one buyer. An auction gives multiple buyers, dealers included, the chance to compete for your equipment on a set date. You know your commission and your payment timeline before anything is committed, and we handle the marketing, bidding and collection.

Compare your options in auction vs. dealer vs. private sale, and read how auction commissions work before you sign with anyone.

When Is the Best Time to Sell Farm Equipment?

Buyers shop ahead of the season they will use the equipment in. Tillage, planting and spraying equipment draws the most interest in late winter and spring; harvest equipment, grain trailers and trucks in late summer. Loader tractors and skid steers sell year round. A retirement dispersal can sell any time of year.

Tell us your timeline and we will recommend the sale and format that fit.

Questions From Farm Sellers

Can I sell equipment without bringing it to your auction yard?
Yes. We can inspect, photograph and catalog equipment where it sits on your farm or business and include it in one of our auctions. If you would rather have it off your property, you can deliver it to our equipment yard in Springfield, Nebraska, in the Omaha metro.
Can my equipment be in a live auction if it stays on my farm?
Yes. Equipment does not have to be at our yard to sell in a live auction. Every sale has online bidding, so a tractor at your place is offered to the same buyers as one in our yard.
What's the difference between a live auction and a timed online auction?
A live auction sells each lot on a set day with an auctioneer calling the bids while buyers bid in person and online. A timed online auction runs over several days and closes lot by lot at a set time, with all bidding online. We will recommend the format that fits your equipment and your timeline.
Will my phone number be posted publicly?
No. We do not list your personal phone number as the buyer contact on your auction listings. Our team takes buyer questions and handles the bidding and payment collection. If your equipment stays at your location, pickup after the sale may need to be arranged with you or someone you designate on site.
Who handles buyer inquiries and pickup arrangements?
We do. Our team answers buyer questions before and during the sale. Equipment at our Springfield yard is released to buyers by our team. For equipment that stays at your location, we coordinate the pickup with the buyer and with you or your on-site contact.
What types of agricultural equipment do you accept?
Tractors and loaders, combines and harvest equipment, tillage and planting equipment, hay and forage equipment, grain handling equipment, farm trucks and trailers, livestock equipment, UTVs, attachments and shop equipment. Single pieces and complete farm or retirement dispersals are both welcome.
How do auction commissions work?
Your commission is agreed in writing before your equipment is listed, and we go over any other fees with you up front. Our guide to how auction commissions work explains the common structures and the questions to ask any auction company before you sign. Read the guide →
When will I receive payment after the auction?
After the auction, we process your seller settlement according to the terms agreed in your seller agreement, once buyer payment requirements are satisfied. We go over the timing with you before you consign.
